Heffalumps and Woozles – The GMO Debate

Anthrax curing spinach? Mould resistant crops? How about spider goats? Whats your opinion on Genetically Engineered Organisms?

The all-around: Canadian Food Inspection Agency provides general info on the ins and outs of GMOs. A good source for understanding the lingo surrounding this subject.

The Nays: Ok so after numerous searches it was difficult to find any reputable video but here’s two links which I think speak for themselves.

From the BBC report:

The Yays: This video is presented by the Monsanto Biotech Corp (producers of ROUNDUP brand pesticide) whose site provides several interviews favoring GMOs. This is just one, but check out some of the others provided on the site.

So? Have any of these videos changed your opinions on what foods you eat?

Do you think GMOs are a good idea or a bad idea?

What would you do to change peoples opinions either way? (depending on your view)

Why do you think we need/don’t need GMO’s based on what you’ve seen?

Do you think GMOs might be needed in some situations and not others?
